About

Hello and welcome to Helping Our Bereaved, or HOB for short. I developed this website and support group to help people cope with the death of a loved one by an unexpected death. My son, Austin Hobson (nick named Hob) died from an accidental overdose at the age of 22. After Austin’s death I felt very alone because I had only a few people to talk to that had been through the same type of grief I have. Through my research, I realized there are not a lot of support groups who specialize in helping people cope with the unexpected death of a friend or family member. That is why I developed HOB. I want this website to be a place of warmth where people can go to share their stories, pictures, and experiences during the grieving process. I also want this website to be educational. Every death is different, so having many different people who have experienced dealing with the death a loved one either by trauma, illness, suicide, or overdose is very important. Please join me is this very needed cause. Here we can grieve, remember, and love together.

Sincerely,

Benjie Windley
